Senior Draughtsman East Rand

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D engineering designs and models.
• Produce complex manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
• Review and approve drawings prepared by junior draughtsmen.
• Lead design and product development projects.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Support engineering calculations and design verification activities.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.
• Investigate and resolve technical drawing and manufacturing issues.
• Mentor and train junior draughtsmen.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate drawing deliverables to meet project deadlines.
• Support production, maintenance, and project teams with technical expertise.

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or a related field.
• Advanced CAD certification advantageous.

• 5–10 years of drafting and engineering design experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or equivalent CAD systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Product design and development experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems.
