Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Diploma or Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Supervisor role within the automotive or manufacturing environment
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Supervise daily production operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Monitor and manage attendance, productivity, downtime, and shift performance.
  • Allocate and optimise resources, including labour, materials, and equipment
  • Ensure the correct operation of Assembly welding production machinery and equipment
  • Identify equipment or process issues and escalate maintenance requirements timeously
  • Enforce standard operating procedures and quality standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects
  • Maintain sound employee relations and discipline in line with labour legislation
  • Compile, analyse, and interpret production and performance reports
Technical & Functional Competencies
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment, including PPE and equipment operating licences.
  • Ability to identify safety risk/ address near misses/ 5s gaps and take required action to ensure a safe work area.
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, including equipment operation, material handling, and production scheduling
  • Proficient in generating and interpreting production reports, including attendance, output, downtime, and key performance metrics (OEE, Cycle time adherence, etc).
  • Good understanding of operating machinery and equipment used in the Assembly welding production process.
  • Strategic reallocation of resources and continuous review of work methods (Change point management).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards
  • Ability to identify root causes of production issues, analyse complex problems, and implement effective solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Strong communication skills to convey instructions, provide feedback, and facilitate training effectively.
