1. JOB PURPOSE:

To provide strategic leadership for the entire plant’s engineering function, encompassing Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Instrumentation disciplines. The HOD-ENA is accountable for the overall asset lifecycle management, capital project execution, reliability engineering, and energy optimization. The role ensures that the plant achieves world-class operational excellence by maximizing equipment uptime, minimizing total cost of ownership, and maintaining strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning & Asset Management: Develop and implement the 5-year asset management and capital investment strategy. Drive the transition from reactive maintenance to Predictive & Prescriptive Maintenance (Industry 4.0).

Operational Excellence: Set the plant-wide Reliability KPI targets (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and ensure cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Production, and Quality to achieve production targets.

Financial Stewardship: Manage the Engineering OPEX budget (maintenance costs, utilities, spares inventory) and CAPEX portfolio. Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising asset integrity.

Project Management: Oversee the execution of major plant modification projects, expansions, and shutdowns (Turnarounds). Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

EHS & Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to local regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and corporate technical standards. Champion Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazardous Area Classification.

Talent Management: Mentor, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Superintendents. Build a robust succession plan for critical technical roles.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical interface with corporate engineering, joint-venture partners, and external regulatory bodies.

3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s in Engineering Management or MBA is highly preferred).

Experience: 18–22 years of experience in heavy process industries (e.g., Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Power, or Cement). Minimum 8 years in a Senior Leadership role managing a large engineering workforce.

Certifications: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a significant advantage.
