Group Handyman / Maintenance Technician

Employment Information

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across company facilities, kitchens, offices, guest areas and operational spaces.
  • Diagnose faults and complete approved electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, tiling, welding or basic mechanical repairs within the candidate’s competence.
  • Repair or replace doors, locks, lighting fixtures, shelves, fittings, furniture and other operational items as assigned.
  • Conduct regular site and equipment inspections and report defects, safety risks and major repair requirements promptly.
  • Support preventive-maintenance schedules and maintain simple records of inspections, jobs completed, materials used and outstanding work.
  • Respond promptly to urgent breakdowns and assist with equipment movement, installation and operational setup.
  • Coordinate with approved contractors and specialist technicians when work falls outside the role’s authorised scope.
  • Use tools, equipment, ladders and personal protective equipment safely and maintain them in good condition.
  • Travel between Groupe Sebastien locations and complete assigned work professionally, efficiently and with minimal
  • disruption to operations.


Qualifications and Experience:
  •  Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, facilities technician or skilled tradesperson.
  • Strong practical competence in at least one of the following: electrical work, plumbing or carpentry. Additional trade skills are an advantage.
  • Technical or vocational certification in a relevant trade is preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose faults, select appropriate tools and materials, and complete safe, durable repairs.
  • Good judgement, reliability, time management and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness for lifting, climbing, bending, standing and other maintenance-related activities.

Working Conditions:
  • The position requires travel between Group locations and may involve urgent call-outs, extended hours or weekend work when operational needs arise.
