Senior Accountant

Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5–7 years' management accounting experience
• Previous experience within the retail industry is essential.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, or similar platforms will be advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of audit processes and tax compliance requirements.

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analyses.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support business decision-making.
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Monitor cash flow, expenditure, and financial risks within the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and financial systems.
• Mentor and guide junior finance team members where required.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's financial strategy.
