About the role:
As a Sales Development Representative, you will own the top of the funnel, identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities on behalf of both Company and our clients. You will work directly within Company's internal sales motion, driving pipeline for our own growth targets across key verticals including insurance, financial services, education, and B2B services.
Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Outbound Outreach
- Execute multi-channel outbound sequences (calls, email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp) to engage cold and warm prospects.
- Research and build accurate prospect lists using Company's ICP scoring criteria and internal decision-maker databases.
- Hit daily and weekly activity targets: calls, connection requests, emails sent, and conversations held.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and CRM workflows to maximise reach and personalisation at scale.
Lead Qualification- Qualify inbound and outbound leads using Company's BANT-based Lead Qualification Engine.
- Accurately assess Qualified Leads (QLs) and Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) before handing off to Account Executives.
- Document all discovery findings and qualification notes in Company CRM with accuracy and speed.
Pipeline & CRM Management- Maintain a clean, up-to-date pipeline in Company's CRM at all times.
- Log all activities, calls, and interactions same-day.
- Participate in daily standups, weekly pipeline reviews, and performance check-ins.
Objection Handling & Messaging- Use Company's objection-handling frameworks to navigate gatekeepers and decision- maker resistance.
- Deliver clear, compelling value propositions tailored to the prospect's vertical and pain points.
- Continuously refine messaging based on feedback from AEs and CSMs.
Collaboration & Feedback- Work closely with Account Executives and CSMs to ensure seamless lead handoffs.
- Share market intelligence, prospect feedback, and competitive insights with the broader team.
- Contribute to playbook improvements and process optimisation as the team scales.
Minimum Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES Programme before.
- Matric.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, confident on the phone and in writing.
- High activity tolerance: comfortable making 60–100+ outreach touchpoints per day.
- Self-motivated and target-driven with a competitive mindset.
- Highly organised with strong CRM discipline and attention to detail.
- Coachable and open to feedback; you improve fast because you listen.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
