The core objective of the Process Research and Development officer (PRADO) is to conduct various experiments in a view to optimise and make the most of all the processes and raw materials. Perform process control activities against SOPs.
Work on projects for new process development and with potential optimisation opportunities leading to economic gain for the company. Ensure operational processes directly impacting on yield are being performed as per set methodologies.
The main objective is to identify areas for improvement and continuously perform research work to improve process.
The Specific duties would be:
- Conduct various trial and experiments for process improvement. Including recovery improvement projects, time studies and efficiency improvement projects, etc.
- Perform precooking test on test pack fish (Species, size and origin) before being use used on production with the objective to determine the most efficient cooking recipe.
- Weekly update on product formulation and final product evaluation trend with the objective to continuously optimisation of product formulation.
- Conduct process control and monitoring activities as per SOP. Continuous monitoring (at defined and random frequency) and statistical analysis of various operational processes directly impacting on yield and efficiency.
- Communicate any process deviation to production for immediate corrective action.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required:
· A degree in Food technology, Biotechnology, Agricultural science, Production and operational management, Mechanical engineering, Process engineering or any other related discipline
· Knowledge with research methodologies
· Attention to details and ability to work in team
· Have a good general knowledge of MS office software packages
· Have the ability to identify and solve problems
· Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Be self reliant and capable of thinking on their feet
· Deliver within to tight deadlines
