Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems and construction plant.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor mechanical engineering activities to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
• Review and approve engineering designs, technical specifications, and material selections.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and quality requirements.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programmes to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of mechanical equipment and services.
• Support tender preparation, project planning, and contract administration.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on mechanical engineering matters.
• Prepare technical reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering Department and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
Core Technical Knowledge
• Mechanical design and engineering analysis.

• HVAC, plumbing, pumps, hydraulics, and piping systems.
• Manufacturing processes, fabrication, and welding.
• CAD and engineering design software.
• Occupational health, safety, and quality management systems.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical and Production Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the construction industry.
