Primary Purpose of the Role
Weare recruiting a manager to work in our deals team, primarily focused on financial due diligence, with support across JSE advisory and valuation engagementsas required. The manager will assistin providing deal-related services, principally from a financial and accountingperspective, to both financial and strategic buyers and vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead financial due diligence engagements for corporate, private equity and lender clients across a broad range of sectors and transaction contexts.
  • Oversee key workstreams including earnings analysis, working capital assessments, cash flow review, net debt and debt-like analysis, and the identification of transaction risks and value drivers
  • Project manage information flows and manage key stakeholders. Based on your analysis, write up your findings and recommendations to ensure clear communication and effective decision-making.
  • Contribute to competitive bid proposals, formal presentations and, where required, valuation and JSE advisory workstreams.
  • Provide support to team members where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their specific needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Present findings and commercial insights to clients, helping them understand key financial matters, deal considerations and negotiation implications.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry news and developments.
  • Manage project documentation, timelines, and deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPRERIENCE:

  • A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Investment Management, or Financial Mathematics (e.g., BCom Hons in Investment Management / Corporate Finance, BBusSci, or CA(SA) path).
  • Progression towards or completion of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation is highly advantageous.

  • 3 - 5 years post articles corporate finance experience

  • Current experience working in a transaction financial due diligence role
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to develop and present results.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, financial statements and key financial ratios.
  • Ability to analyse financial and operational performance, including working capital and capital structure considerations.
  • Strong commercial judgement, deal awareness and understanding of basic mergers and acquisitions principles.
