Systems Engineer Specialist

Our client in the banking industry is looking for a Systems Engineer Specialist. 


Role Purpose

The Systems Engineer Specialist will provide advanced technical expertise in the installation, testing, tuning, optimisation, troubleshooting, upgrading and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, systems software and related infrastructure components. The role ensures the stability, performance and availability of enterprise IT systems supporting business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and support servers, operating systems and infrastructure hardware.
• Monitor, tune and optimise system performance and availability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
• Perform system upgrades, patching and preventive maintenance.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Maintain system documentation and ensure compliance with IT standards and governance.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support incident, problem and change management processes.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or Systems Administration.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise IT environments and mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on experience with system troubleshooting, optimisation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Relevant infrastructure or systems certifications advantageous.
