The Supply Chain Manager: Community Engagement & Stakeholder Relations will be responsible for supporting and managing key components of the supply chain function, with a specific focus on local procurement, supplier coordination, B-BBEE procurement, SMME participation, community engagement, CSI, and stakeholder relationship management.
During the construction phase, the role will coordinate local procurement, SMME visibility, supplier database management, stakeholder communication, and community-related matters. Once operational, the role will progressively support the broader supply chain function including procurement administration, supplier management, logistics follow-up, B-BBEE procurement tracking, CSI coordination, and board-level reporting support.

Key Responsibilities
 

  1. Supply Chain Coordination & Procurement Support
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement and supply chain processes for the facility.
  • Coordinate supplier information, procurement documentation, quotations, purchase order follow-ups, and delivery administration.
  • Collaborate with finance, project, technical, agriculture, and operations teams on procurement and supply chain requirements.
  • Support supplier onboarding, including company documentation, tax compliance, B-BBEE information, safety requirements, and banking details.
  • Support the preparation of procurement and supply chain reports for management.
  1. Local Procurement & Supplier Coordination
  • Develop and maintain a structured database of local suppliers, SMMEs, plant hire providers, and service providers.
  • Identify local procurement opportunities across plant hire, minor works, cleaning, catering, security, waste management, transport, maintenance, and consumables.
  • Support the assessment of local supplier capability, compliance readiness, and suitability for specific opportunities.
  • Ensure local procurement is managed transparently and in line with business requirements around safety, quality, cost, and compliance.
  1. B-BBEE & Preferential Procurement
  • Support the organisation's B-BBEE strategy from a procurement and supplier development perspective.
  • Assist in identifying B-BBEE-compliant suppliers, black-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, and qualifying SMMEs.
  • Track local and B-BBEE supplier information for reporting and verification purposes.
  • Support enterprise and supplier development initiatives to improve SMME readiness.
  1. Community Engagement, Stakeholder Relations & Shareholder Interface
  • Manage relationships with local stakeholders linked to procurement, SMME participation, local labour, CSI, and local economic participation.
  • Act as a key interface between the organisation and local stakeholders, including Midvaal Municipality, community representatives, ward structures, local businesses, and the future B-BBEE partner.
  • Support the Managing Director in managing relationships with the future B-BBEE shareholder on matters linked to local procurement, CSI, SMME participation, and community engagement.
  • Prepare structured updates, reports, and briefing notes for management and board-level discussions.
  • Ensure stakeholder communication is coordinated, consistent, and properly documented.
  1. SMME Participation & Local Economic Development
  • Support identification of local SMMEs relevant to construction-phase and operational-phase opportunities.
  • Assist local suppliers and SMMEs in understanding documentation, safety, compliance, and administrative requirements.
  • Maintain clear records of SMME engagement, supplier submissions, opportunities identified, and outcomes.
  1. CSI & Community Development
  • Coordinate CSI initiatives linked to the facility and surrounding communities.
  • Support identification of CSI projects aligned with the organisation's values, community needs, and long-term local presence.
  • Maintain records of CSI proposals, approvals, beneficiaries, spend, and outcomes.
  1. Reporting, Compliance & Board-Level Support
  • Maintain proper records of supplier databases, procurement documents, stakeholder engagements, CSI initiatives, and action plans.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, briefing notes, meeting minutes, and follow-up trackers.
  • Support the Managing Director with shareholder and board-level updates on local procurement, B-BBEE, SMME participation, and stakeholder matters.
  • Ensure all activities are managed with transparency, professionalism, integrity, and business discipline.
 
Minimum Requirements
 
  • Bachelor's degree, BTech, Honours degree, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Public Administration, Finance, Local Government, Development Studies, Stakeholder Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years' relevant experience in supply chain support, procurement coordination, supplier management, stakeholder relations, local economic development, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Exposure to procurement, supplier onboarding, tender coordination, contract administration, or supply chain reporting (advantageous).
  • Experience working with municipalities, local businesses, public institutions, contractors, or local economic participation initiatives (advantageous).
  • Understanding of B-BBEE, preferential procurement, enterprise and supplier development, SMME participation, and CSI (advantageous).
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication, diplomacy, coordination, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Willingness to develop further technical capability in industrial supply chain management, ERP systems, inventory control, and logistics planning.
