Job Details

Our client, operating within the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Supervisor to join their team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily operations, leading a team, ensuring productivity targets are achieved, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
This position requires a proactive individual who is immediately available and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operational activities.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage staff to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and staff discipline.
  • Conduct staff training and provide ongoing coaching where required.
  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained.
  • Assist with stock control, stock counts, receiving, and dispatch processes.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Complete daily operational reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise effectively with management regarding operational performance and staffing requirements.
  • Promote a positive and productive working environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) (essential).
  • Previous supervisory experience within an FMCG, retail, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be available to commence employment immediately.
  • Own reliable transport will be advantageous.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Contactable employment references.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Sound understanding of FMCG operational processes.
  • Experience managing teams in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with productivity monitoring and performance management.
  • Ability to manage staff scheduling and workflow planning.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems will be advantageous.
