Key Responsibilities

Student Wellbeing & Student Affairs

  • Support student wellbeing and emotional wellness
  • Provide guidance and support to students
  • Assist with student concerns and referrals
  • Liaise with parents and guardians when required
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive residential environment

Student Life Programme

  • Develop and manage engaging Student Life programmes
  • Coordinate sporting, social and cultural events
  • Implement academic support initiatives
  • Lead leadership development programmes
  • Coordinate career readiness initiatives
  • Drive community engagement projects
  • Manage orientation and Welcoming Week activities

Residence & Community Management

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive student community
  • Promote student engagement and participation
  • Maintain building culture and community standards
  • Ensure compliance with residence rules and policies
  • Support operational teams in delivering exceptional service

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the Student Life Intern (SLI) team
  • Manage programme planning and budgets
  • Recruit, train and support student leaders
  • Monitor programme performance and outcomes

Student Discipline & Communication

  • Manage disciplinary processes fairly and professionally
  • Investigate and resolve student incidents
  • Communicate operational updates to students
  • Respond to student and parent enquiries

Crisis Management & Security Support

  • Support security teams during incidents
  • Assist with crisis management procedures
  • Ensure student safety remains a priority
  • Prepare reports relating to incidents and disciplinary matters

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Student Affairs, Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Development or a related field
  • Previous experience in Student Accommodation, Higher Education, Residence Management or Student Affairs
  • Experience coordinating student programmes and events
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to engage with students, parents and university stakeholders
  • Strong planning, administration and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
