Stores Superintendent required for a reputable manufacturing company based in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape

Requirements :

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Above average computer literacy in Microsoft applications. SAGE300 experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Xhosa.
  • Organised individual with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a warehouse/procurement or stock control function.
  • Manufacturing environment would be preferred.
  • Warehouse / Stock Control / Purchasing training would be an advantage.
  • Must have previous experience in the ordering of mechanical equipment and parts.
  • Systematic person who will enforce company procurement protocol and address queries promptly.
  • Knowledgeable and current on basic labour legislation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with persons from different cultures.
  • Willing to work as per operational requirements

Job Description:

  • Provide materials, equipment, and supplies by ordering, directing, receiving, warehousing, and distribution services and supervising the supporting staff in the stores department.
  • Support the procurement process ensuring that it is aligned to Company protocol.
  • Maintain efficient control of stock and pivotal in leading stock counting procedures.
  • Control the daily functioning of the stores department ensuring resources in the department are utilised efficiently.
  • Support the implementation of procedures and processes to control inventory and balance stock and ensure that paperwork is processed accurately.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling stock with the SAGE300 system.
  • Analyze stock variances and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains employee capacity and efficiency in stores department by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures.
  • Ensuring a high-level housekeeping standard in the department
  • Assist with control over expenses for the responsible area to be in line with budgetary parameters
