Minimum requirements:
Matric or Grade 12.
Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting.
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
At least five years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably including post-articles experience.
Experience in a manufacturing, production, mining, building materials or similar operational environment will be strongly advantageous.
Demonstrable experience in preparing monthly management accounts.
Solid working knowledge of general ledger accounting, creditors, debtors, inventory, fixed assets and financial reconciliations.
Experience in production accounting, inventory management, costing and variance analysis will be advantageous.
Sound understanding of financial controls, audit requirements and statutory financial compliance.
Good working knowledge of VAT principles and applicable South African accounting and tax requirements.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations and management reporting.
Experience using an accounting or ERP system.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
Willingness and ability to work predominantly on site in Zuurbekom.
Duties:
The purpose of the position is to:
Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
Prepare monthly management accounts and internal financial reports.
Analyse production costs, operating expenses and financial variances.
Manage the creditors and debtors’ functions.
Implement and maintain appropriate financial controls.
Support the plant’s production and operational reporting requirements.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timely completion of financial information.
Provide reliable financial and administrative support to plant management and the Financial Manager.
