Qualifications & Experience
- FGASA Level 2 or higher (essential)
- Trails Guide qualification (NQF 4 or equivalent)
- Valid ARH (Advanced Rifle Handling) qualification
- Valid First Aid certificate
- PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a guiding role within a luxury lodge or private reserve
- Previous experience leading walking safaris independently
- Experience mentoring and training junior guides
- Extensive knowledge of wildlife, birding, botany, and ecosystems
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent guest interaction and communication skills
- High level of rifle competency and bush safety awareness
- Strong tracking abilities
- Good vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure and in remote environments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Passion for conservation and environmental sustainability
- Professional and well-presented
- Calm and confident under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Guest-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and able to work long hours outdoors
- Honest, reliable, and responsible
- Passionate about wildlife and the safari industry
