SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGERS (x2): POME- AND STONE FRUIT / POME FRUIT
Laastedrif Agri (Pty) Ltd. is an established commercial agricultural enterprise, specialising in the cultivation of fresh fruit and vegetables. Laastedrif is based in Ceres and serves a range of local supermarkets as well as international markets.
Reporting to the Owner and the senior management team, these roles are suited to individuals who can take full operational responsibility, ensuring that all aspects of production performance are effectively managed.
The Senior Production Manager: Pome- and Stone Fruit will take full ownership of a production unit (120 ha pome- and stone fruit), and the Senior Production Manager: Pome Fruit will take full ownership of another production unit (120 ha pome fruit).
The ideal candidates are strong, practical leaders who are just as comfortable planning ahead as they are being involved in day-to-day farm operations. Individuals who can lead teams well, and handle the pressure of running farming operations independently.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Planning and running all production activities from planting to harvest.
• Overseeing irrigation, fertilisation, crop protection, and orchard performance.
• Budget and cost management.
• Leading, developing, and managing production teams.
• Tracking and reporting on production, quality, and overall performance.
• Making sure all farming practices meet required standards and certifications.
• Continuously improving processes to boost productivity, quality, and profit.
Minimum Requirements:
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture or similar field;
• Proven experience in a similar role managing large farms and production teams;
• Experience in the cultivation of pome- and/or stone fruit;
• Proven knowledge & experience with budget and cost management;
• Good labour relations knowledge;
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, specifically Excel);
• Valid driver’s license.
