Minimum Requirements

• BSc or BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8–10 years' experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as Creo, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), design calculations, and product development.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, structural design, piping systems, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacture principles.
• Experience working within mining, manufacturing, heavy industry, defence, rail, or process plant environments will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment from concept through to production.
• Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Perform design calculations, simulations, FEA analyses, and engineering evaluations.
• Develop and manage engineering data packs, bills of materials, and revision-controlled documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Liaise with suppliers, production teams, and customers regarding technical requirements and design improvements.
• Support prototype development, testing, commissioning, and product optimisation activities.
• Manage product lifecycle activities and engineering change processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
