Position Summary

The Seed Grant Procurement Officer will be instrumental in supporting procurement activities within the seed grant and sub-grant schemes, ensuring strict adherence to donor regulations and organizational procedures. This role encompasses providing technical guidance to grant beneficiaries, meticulously reviewing procurement documentation, overseeing the implementation of procurement processes, maintaining precise records, and assisting with logistics and asset management to ensure effective project delivery.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Management, or a closely related field.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in procurement, grant management, logistics, supply chain management, or project operations within Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs), governmental institutions, or donor-funded programs.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing procurement processes in strict compliance with donor and organizational policies and procedures.

  • Experience supporting seed grants, sub-grants, SME grants, entrepreneurship funds, livelihood grants, or similar funding mechanisms.

  • Knowledge of EU PRAG procurement and grant management procedures, or other donor regulations, is highly desirable.

  • Experience in reviewing procurement plans, quotations, purchase requests, contracts, invoices, and associated documentation.

  • Proven experience in supplier management, contract administration, procurement planning, and reporting.

  • Experience supporting grant monitoring visits, compliance reviews, and internal and external audits.

  • Skills and Competencies:

  • A strong understanding of procurement principles and donor compliance requirements.

  • The ability to provide effective technical guidance and facilitation to grant beneficiaries and implementing partners.

  • Robust monitoring skills to ensure transparency, accountability, and value for money.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate procurement records for audit purposes and donor reporting.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Familiarity with local languages is considered an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and related tools).
