Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement).
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in retail sales and/or marketing.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of retail store operations and inventory management.
  • Experience in sales planning, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
  • Sound financial and budget management skills.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite and relevant retail software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organisational abilities.
  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance within a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve store performance.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels through effective inventory management.
  • Oversee merchandising, pricing, promotions, and display standards.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue.
  • Analyse financial reports and profitability ratios to support business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Implement and maintain store security measures to protect assets.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and compliant working environment.
  • Schedule, supervise, and support store employees to maximise productivity.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and support staff development initiatives.
  • Address employee relations matters in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare management reports on store performance, risks, and stakeholder matters.
  • Uphold company values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and customer excellence.
