Key Duties and Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Daily Work Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians and repair teams.
- Allocate manpower and assign maintenance work according to operational priorities.
- Organize toolbox meetings, shift meetings, and maintenance briefings.
- Monitor work progress and ensure completion within planned timelines.
- Conduct team performance monitoring and provide operational guidance.
- Ensure effective shift handover and continuity of maintenance operations.
Equipment Repair, Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Supervise preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, predictive maintenance, and breakdown repair activities.
- Lead emergency troubleshooting and equipment recovery activities.
- Coordinate fault diagnosis and repair of Tongli fleet equipment.
- Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer maintenance procedures and company standards.
- Review completed work and approve equipment release for operation.
- Support component replacement and overhaul activities.
- Reduce repeat failures through effective repair controls and corrective actions.
Safety Management & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies and mining safety requirements.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings and maintenance risk assessments.
- Enforce:
- LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)
- Permit-to-Work procedures
- Isolation requirements
- Hazard identification processes
- Emergency response procedures
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
Spare Parts, Tools & Technical Documentation Management
- Coordinate spare parts requirements and maintenance materials.
- Monitor usage of tools and workshop equipment.
- Ensure maintenance records and technical documentation remain accurate and updated.
- Support inventory control and spare parts management.
- Maintain service history and maintenance reports.
Team Development & Technical Capability Building
- Train and mentor technicians and junior maintenance personnel.
- Support knowledge transfer and technical development initiatives.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training plans.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
Cross-Department Coordination
Coordinate with:
- Operations Department
- Warehouse Department
- Procurement Department
- Planning Team
- Safety Department
- Support equipment availability and operational readiness.
Qualification & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in any of the following preferred fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Heavy Equipment Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- A Master’s Degree (MSc/MEng) in a relevant field will be considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 6 years of proven experience in maintenance and repair of Tongli equipment or equivalent heavy mining equipment within open-pit mining operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance execution teams.
