Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution
- Execute mechanical and piping engineering scope across all project phases
- Perform engineering calculations, design analysis, and technical drawing reviews
- Support project setup and planning to ensure complete discipline scope coverage
- Develop mechanical specifications, datasheets, and design documentation
- Provide technical input during tendering, costing, and contract stages
- Manage and distribute engineering drawings for project and site use
- Support project teams with design interpretation and equipment installation guidance
- Conduct inspections, witness testing, and quality control activities
- Provide on-site support during construction and commissioning phases
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where needed
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements
- Conduct site visits to verify alignment between design and execution
Cost & Budget Management
- Monitor and control costs related to mechanical and piping scope
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
- Support budgeting and financial tracking activities
Planning & Scheduling
- Collaborate with project planners to track and update project schedules
- Assist in re-planning activities to meet revised project targets
- Ensure contractors and suppliers adhere to timelines
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all designs and activities comply with relevant safety legislation and regulations
- Promote adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Risk & Documentation Management
- Maintain accurate project records, including decision logs and technical documentation
- Capture and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement
- Identify and mitigate technical and project-related risks
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Process Engineering
- Professional registration (Pr Eng / Pr Tech) is advantageous
- Postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, or business are beneficial
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical and piping engineering
- Experience within engineering and construction project environments
- Exposure to process plant design and multidisciplinary project delivery
- Experience in contract management, cost control, HAZOP, and SHERQ systems
