Role Overview for Programme Accountant Jobs in Lusaka The Programme Accountant will play a critical role in budgeting, financial planning, quality control, and reporting to ensure effective financial management.

This position requires accurate recording and monitoring of all financial transactions and disbursements to guarantee accountability of funds utilized by ZOCS. Key Responsibilities Account for prepaid expenses and manage updated asset registers.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and post journals for all ZOCS bank accounts. Compile monthly audit files and donor reports aligned with donor requirements.

Develop budgets for proposals, annual budgets, and strategic plans. Prepare management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with financial policies.

Monitor donor expenses and transactions to ensure adherence to organizational and donor guidelines. Maintain a calendar for donor report submissions and ensure timely preparation of reports.

Review cash disbursement vouchers and oversee bi-weekly import of financial data into accounting software (Pastel). Conduct quarterly monitoring visits outside the duty station as required.

Report financial anomalies promptly and perform additional finance-related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, ACCA Stage 2, or ZICA Stage 2 qualification. Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within a reputable donor-funded organization.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
