Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain production schedules for new capital machinery and rebuild machinery using Visual Manufacturing MRP, Excel, and MS Projects
- Monitor, analyse, and report on production performance, manufacturing capacity, workforce requirements, and schedule adherence
- Coordinate with project managers, sales, procurement, engineering, and production departments to sequence manufacturing, assembly, and installations
- Quantify and report costs on all planned production jobs to the Financial Cost Accountant, considering appropriate margins
- Accurately maintain and manage the Business Central database for all released and historical production orders
- Chair production foreman tracking meetings and lead cross-departmental planning meetings
- Manage, monitor, and report on additional machine modification production orders (budget vs actuals)
- Develop KPI models and productivity/efficiency recommendations for executive management
- Oversee sub-contracting liaison, field service order releases, and monthly machinery delivery reporting
- Provide continual improvement of planning, reporting, and engineering release processes
- Supervise and develop planning team members
Experience & Qualifications- Matric essential; BTech in Mechanical Engineering advantageous
- Qualification in Project Management essential
- Minimum 5 years in production planning or management within a manufacturing and fabrication environment
- Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing or similar MRP/ERP systems
- MS Projects experience required
- Business Central system experience advantageous
- Experience with ISO quality management systems
- Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills
- High level of computer literacy
- Valid driver's licence and own transport
