You will lead plant operations, keep production flowing, reduce downtime and ensure every product meets the required quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily deboning, meat cutting and processing operations
- Plan production schedules and workflows to meet operational and sales targets
- Monitor carcass intake and liaise with veterinary services and relevant regulatory bodies
- Maintain food safety, quality control and animal welfare standards
- Control production costs, wastage, shrinkage and budget variances
- Manage stock levels, supply chain requirements and production continuity
- Oversee preventative maintenance and minimise equipment downtime
- Set performance standards, train employees and optimise manpower utilisation
- Investigate production discrepancies and implement corrective action
- Support customer satisfaction by meeting product specifications and volume requirements
Requirements
- Proven production management experience within an abattoir, deboning plant or meat processing environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality control and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing production targets, budgets, stock and operational KPIs
- Solid staff leadership, training and performance management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve operational problems quickly
Education
A relevant qualification in Production Management, Food Technology, Operations Management or a related field is advantageous.Soft Skills

The proposed salary for the role is around R30k per month - the salary is marginally negotiable, but the final offer will depend on qualifications, experience and skills.
