Our client, a well‑established construction company, is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer (Buyer) to join their team in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge and practical experience in sourcing and ordering construction materials, preferably with exposure to BuildSmart systems. A background in storeroom management and procurement within the building industry will be highly advantageous.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience in procurement or materials management
• Strong knowledge of construction materials procurement processes
• Experience working with BuildSmart 
• Background in storeroom management is highly beneficial
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Willingness to work every second Saturday
• Must be immediately available
• Residing in Bloemfontein

Responsibilities:

• Obtain competitive prices and source building materials
• Place and manage orders via BuildSmart procurement system
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Oversee storeroom operations and monitor stock levels
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry standards
• Manage procurement costs and maintain budget control
• Support project teams by ensuring materials are available on time
