About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Private Household Chef to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for a family of 5 with specific dietary and medical requirements. This is a long-term position for someone who is passionate about healthy cooking and takes pride in creating delicious meals while following dietary guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and healthy snacks).
- Develop varied weekly menus that meet specific dietary requirements.
- Prepare meals suitable for:
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure (low sodium)
- Gout (low purine)
- Grocery shopping and maintaining kitchen stock.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and hygienic at all times.
- Store food safely and minimise waste.
- Adapt recipes to suit changing dietary needs and preferences.
- Occasionally prepare meals for family members or visitors.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a private chef, personal chef, or professional chef.
- Experience preparing healthy or medically tailored meals is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of balanced nutrition and healthy cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and low-purine cooking is an advantage.
- Excellent food hygiene and kitchen management skills.
- Trustworthy, reliable, professional, and discreet.
- Ability to work independently and manage meal planning.
- Valid references from previous employers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary training or professional chef certification.
- Food Safety/Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience working in private households, executive homes, healthcare, or hospitality.
Working Hours
To be discussed with the successful candidate. (i.e Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday)
