Plant Engineer (Manufacturing Industry)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance engineering strategies to ensure maximum plant uptime and reliability
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures
• Develop and manage maintenance budgets, spares, and lifecycle asset plans
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company engineering standards
• Manage contractors and engineering service providers on site
• Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Plan and execute plant shutdowns and major maintenance projects
• Analyse equipment performance data and implement optimisation strategies
• Lead and mentor maintenance teams and technical personnel

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories (advantageous or required depending on plant)
• 5–10 years’ experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance systems
• Proven experience in plant maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management
• Strong understanding of PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation (advantageous)
• Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM, Pragma, Maximo)
• Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
