We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and hands-on professional to join our senior management team. This role is critical for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, maintaining exceptional guest service standards, and driving operational and financial excellence across the lodge.

About the Operations Manager Role Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the lodge, including Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Guest Experience.

This senior leadership role demands a highly visible manager who can lead by example, foster departmental accountability, and improve overall financial performance. Key Responsibilities for Operations Manager Jobs in Livingstone Support the General Manager in daily lodge operations and act as second-in-command when necessary.

Provide leadership across all departments, emphasizing Food & Beverage performance, service quality, cost control, and team accountability. Collaborate closely with department heads to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Drive improvements in service standards, menu execution, stock control, and cost management. Monitor operational costs against revenue and identify opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising guest experience.

Enhance gross operating profit through improved operational controls, labor planning, stock management, and purchasing discipline. Conduct regular operational inspections and service checks, ensuring timely corrective actions.

Coach and develop department heads and supervisors to strengthen leadership capabilities. Support staff training, performance management, and internal development initiatives.

Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures, standards, and reporting systems. Address guest complaints and operational challenges promptly and professionally.

Provide regular operational performance feedback and risk updates to the General Manager.

Candidate Profile and Required Experience The ideal candidate will bring:

• Previous experience in a senior operations role within hotels, lodges, resorts, or hospitality settings.
• A strong operational background with proven ability to lead multiple departments.
• Expertise in cost control, stock management, labor planning, and financial performance monitoring.
• Commitment to maintaining high guest service standards with a hands-on leadership style.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Capability to support the General Manager with comprehensive property oversight and consistent follow-through.
• Experience in remote lodge, resort, or safari hospitality environments is advantageous.
