Millwright / Maintenance Technician

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal

Remuneration:

Budget of R30,000.00 per month (Cost to Company)

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Millwright or Maintenance Technician with a recognised trade qualification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' maintenance experience within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
• Experience with preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• PLC fault-finding experience will be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Valid driver's licence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Attend to machine breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime.
• Conduct fault-finding on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Install, maintain and repair production machinery and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety and food safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure optimal plant performance.
• Participate in planned shutdowns and equipment installations when required.

Candidates with experience in the FMCG, Engineering and Technical sectors, specifically in Trade - Millwright, Retail, Wholesale, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Dispatching & Receiving, Food & Beverage functions, will be highly advantageous.
