Overview

The Civil Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified and unemployed health professionals for the 2026 recruitment of 2,600 Workers in the Ministry of Health.

The advertisement includes the following positions:

Medical Laboratory Technicians

  • Collect, label, and process patient specimens for routine laboratory tests.
  • Perform haematological tests, including full blood counts and ESR.
  • Conduct basic biochemical tests, such as glucose, cholesterol, and liver function.
  • Prepare and stain blood smears for malaria parasite detection.
  • Maintain daily temperature logs for refrigerators and incubators in the lab.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and culture media for diagnostic use.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a Zambian citizen with a valid National Registration Card (NRC).
  • Possess a full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Hold relevant professional qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • Be duly registered and licensed by the relevant professional regulatory body (where applicable).
  • Be unemployed in the Civil Service at the time of application.
  • Be above 18 years and below 45 years of age.

  • Application letter indicating the professional cadre and preferred district (or preferred province for Intern Medical Doctors and Pharmacists).
  • Certified copies of academic and professional qualifications.
  • Certified copy of the National Registration Card (NRC).
  • Valid practising licence (where applicable).
  • Professional registration certificate (where applicable).
  • Any other relevant supporting documents (e.g. a certificate from the Zambia Agency/Association for Persons with Disabilities, where applicable).

Important Notice

The Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Health do not charge any recruitment fee at any stage of the process. Applicants are only responsible for ZAMPOST postage charges.
