Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join their team in Pretoria, GP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, managing a team of 20 factory staff, and ensuring efficient stock control, receiving, and dispatch processes in a chemical manufacturing environment. The role requires hands-on leadership on the production floor, ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards, optimizing workflows, and driving product delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations.
  • Optimize processes with a focus on SOPs and GMPs.
  • Manage staff, including training, performance management, scheduling, and discipline.
  • Address and resolve non-conformances.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of manufacturing stock.
  • Maintain accurate inventory management, including FIFO, picking, packing, receiving, and dispatch.
  • Plan and oversee receiving and dispatch of scheduled deliveries.
  • Review production schedules and ensure the picking area is replenished as needed.
  • Organize bin layouts for efficiency and compliance.
  • Conduct regular stock takes.
  • Ensure timely processing from order to delivery.
  • Lead start and end-of-day meetings with manufacturing staff.
  • Release batch cards and manage prioritization of production tasks.

Requirements:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of OHSA and FSSC regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
