About the Role:

Managing Director Jobs in Lusaka The Managing Director (MD) will provide visionary leadership, working closely with the Board of Directors and senior management to define and execute the company’s strategic direction. This role demands a dynamic leader with expertise spanning mining, industrial processing, people management, and commercial operations.

The MD will champion Kariba Minerals’ mission, ensuring sustainable growth, operational effectiveness, and strong stakeholder relationships, including direct interaction with the KML Board.

Key Responsibilities Strategy Development and Implementation:

• Collaborate with the Board to establish and execute organizational strategies, policies, and cultural transformation initiatives that enhance financial and operational performance.

Operational Leadership:

Oversee company operations through effective coordination with senior management, monitor performance against targets, and lead the implementation of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.

Financial Oversight:

• Ensure prudent management of financial and physical resources to maintain profitability, sustainability, and business continuity.

Risk, Audit & Compliance:

• Implement robust risk management systems, ensure legal compliance, maintain strong auditor relationships, and uphold exemplary corporate governance and ESG principles.

People Management:

• Lead human capital strategies aligned with industry best practices and support a performance-driven culture through effective policies and systems.

Shareholder Engagement:

• Manage stakeholder communications and relationships to enhance shareholder value and support company objectives.
• Qualifications and Experience Five (5) ‘O’ Levels with credits or better, including Mathematics and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent; a degree in Mining, Engineering, or related industrial fields is an advantage.
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
• Relevant professional certifications and registration with a recognized professional body.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in mining or related industrial sectors, with a minimum of 5 years in senior management roles.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at executive levels, both orally and in writing.
