Job Title: Manager – Channel Development North (Sales & Distribution)

The Manager – Channel Development North will provide strategic leadership to drive growth in electronic airtime, data penetration, and smartphone revenue. The role focuses on strengthening existing channels while accelerating the development of new distribution channels, particularly in device, digital, and data-led segments

Operating within a highly competitive and regulated telecoms environment, this role requires a commercially astute leader who can build strategic partnerships, unlock new channel opportunities, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager – Channels Management and development, below are the key job responsibilities:

• Lead the rollout and execution of channel strategies to accelerate growth in electronic airtime, data, and smartphone penetration across key segments (banks, device outlets, supermarkets, terminals, and hospitality channels);
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure “dominate Telco Markets” for effective partnerships and development of Channel distribution partners to capture all relevant channel opportunities in the regions;
• Facilitate the provision and regular availability of channel products and services for effective team operations/activations;
• Lead annual budgetary plans for channel operations in the assigned regions;
• Recruit, train, develop and coordinate Channel resources to ensure achievement of Channel sales development targets;
• Manage the execution of Channel plans and ensure Brand standards for Channels are adhered to;
• Provide Channel and Shopper thought leadership for implementation of channel plans;
• Build and maintain regular contacts with key channels to build stronger relationships;
• Develops and executes joint promotional campaigns with convenience channel partners.

 Candidate Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate with 5 credits or better (including English and Mathematics);
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, Economics or related field;
• MBA or relevant advanced qualification will be an added advantage;
• At least 5 years’ experience in similar management role, preferably in marketing and sales.

 Professional Competencies:

• Strong expertise in sales, marketing, and channel management;
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partnerships;
• Strong financial acumen and budget management skills;
• Technology awareness and understanding of digital channel evolution;
• Proven track record in leading, coaching, and motivating high-performing teams;
• Strong customer and market orientation.
