Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare internal reports (volume, flash, management pack, board pack, cashflow, operational forecast).
  • Execute and manage month‑end procedures.
  • Analyse, review, and control intercompany accounts.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Ensure supplier payments align with vendor terms.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and annual budgets.
  • Oversee VAT returns, EMP201 submissions, and compliance testing.
  • Liaise with auditors and manage annual audit schedules.
  • Ensure monthly management accounts are submitted on time.
  • Monitor expenditure against budget and report irregularities.

Customer & Operational Excellence

  • Respond to internal/external queries within 48 hours.
  • Adhere to client SOPs/SLAs.
  • Maintain and enhance financial systems (Evolution, ZDos, WMS).
  • Investigate revenue/expense variances.
  • Ensure accuracy of captured transactions and month/year‑end rollovers.

Leadership & Culture

  • Develop and build the finance team.
  • Manage AP/AR staff and approvals.
  • Enforce accountability and internal controls.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Word; Pastel Evolution exposure advantageous.
  • Staff supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll (VIP preferred), tax, pension fund administration, statutory returns.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, proactive, and innovative.
  • Familiarity with Kaizen principles beneficial.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • BCom in Management Accounting (CIMA advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain/warehouse environment.
  • 3–4 years’ general financial management exposure.
  • Knowledge of South African VAT essential.
