Key Responsibilities for Logistics Dispatcher Jobs in Lusaka As a Logistics Dispatcher Specialist, you will play a critical role in coordinating and managing transport activities to maintain seamless operations.

Your main duties will include:

Order Scheduling & Dispatch:

• Organize order scheduling, allocate loads efficiently, and dispatch vehicles daily to meet transport demands.

In-Transit Tracking & Timeline Management:

• Monitor fleet movements and cargo status to ensure strict adherence to delivery schedules and turnaround times.

Issue Resolution & Incident Management:

• Act as the primary contact for resolving transport delays, cargo damages, and operational emergencies promptly and effectively.

Documentation & Reconciliation:

• Manage critical transport documents such as Proof of Delivery (PODs), waybills, and consignment notes, ensuring accurate record-keeping in operational ledgers.

Transporter & Driver Coordination:

• Maintain daily communication with third-party logistics providers, transporters, and drivers to facilitate smooth operations.

Reporting & Data Analytics:

• Compile operational data, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular performance reports for management review.

Qualifications and Skills Required To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of practical experience in logistics dispatch, including local and long-distance transport operations, route planning, and vehicle loading optimization.

Technical Proficiency:

• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of local road networks and major transit corridors is essential.

Core Competencies:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with drivers, hauliers, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

• High attention to detail, strong sense of accountability, and the flexibility to handle peak season shifts or urgent after-hours dispatch requirements.
