LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

Job Purpose

To ensure that guest and organisational laundry is collected, sorted, washed, dried, ironed, folded and stored to high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and sort laundry according to type, colour and washing requirements.
• Inspect items for stains, damage or missing items.
• Operate washing and drying equipment safely.
• Measure and use detergents and cleaning products appropriately.
• Treat stains using approved methods.
• Dry laundry using appropriate equipment or procedures.
• Iron and fold clothes, linen, towels and other items.
• Separate clean and dirty laundry.
• Maintain accurate laundry records where required.
• Report damaged or missing items.
• Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area.
• Clean and maintain laundry equipment.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages.
• Follow hygiene, health and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic education.
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is an advantage.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment is preferred.
