Job Details

Key Deliverables

  • You will be responsible for conducting land surveys to establish the location of boundaries and contours.
  • Also responsible for preparing topographical maps and managing development projects.
  • Carry out any other assigned responsibilities by the civil and surveying project team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out a survey of the environment and providing coordinates of all structural elements and alignment of same.
  • Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracy.
  • Research and design methods for survey processes.
  • Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features e.g. longitudes, latitudes
  • Implementing dimensional control and setting out for site operations
  • Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys.
  • Conducting basic calculations using field note data, standard calculations to identify areas, elevation and volumes of field survey notes
  • Conducting field measurement and layout.
  • Build maps, sketches, and charts.
  • Reading, utilizing and interpreting design drawings and topographic maps.
  • Developing and inspecting land surveying project contracts and providing consistent and superior quality documents for survey, and design projects for clients.
  • Providing vertical and horizontal control maps for mapping and survey projects.
  • Carrying out duties related to land surveying for identifying property boundaries.
  • Conducting standard calculations to identify areas, elevation and volumes of field survey notes.
  • Study, learn and interpret CAD computer applications.
  • Support Survey Team coordinator and in-house design group.
  • Report on survey results and present findings to Civil and Surveying Team Lead.
  • Maintain assigned equipment.
  • Supervise and work with 3rd Party survey teams to deliver project assigned deliverables.
  • Carry out any other assigned responsibilities by the civil and surveying project team.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of an HND Upper Division or BSc 2nd Class in Surveying & Geomatics will be an advantage.
  • Be licensed by a recognized Engineering Regulatory body in Nigeria like the Nigerian institute of Surveyors NIS or SURCON.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Land Surveying
  • Knowledge of survey principles, techniques and procedures.
  • Be proficient in standard industry software/ Tools ArcGIS/ QGIS, Total station, Google Earth and AutoCAD, etc.
  • Working knowledge of GPS and GIS, Dumpy Level instrument, etc.
