Our client, a leading player within the renewables and environmental sector, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee and manage the full finance function across the Group.

This role offers exposure to multi-jurisdiction operations, complex intercompany structures, and high-impact financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Oversee transactional finance functions including cash, creditors, debtors, payroll, and fixed assets
• Ensure accuracy of financial records, reconciliations, and trial balances
• Manage treasury operations, cash flow, and banking relationships
• Prepare financial reporting, analysis, and operational KPIs for management and board reporting
• Perform consolidations, intercompany transactions, and variance analysis across entities
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, and statutory requirements
• Lead audit processes and act as the primary contact for external auditors
• Identify process improvements, financial risks, and control gaps

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (essential)
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles

Experience:

• Minimum 3+ years post-articles experience in a similar role
• 3–5 years’ experience managing a team
• Exposure to multi-entity or cross-border environments (Africa experience advantageous)
• Experience in project, construction, or complex intercompany environments beneficial

Skills:

• Strong financial and analytical capability
• Advanced Excel and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Microsoft D365 advantageous)
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
