Job Details

The North Western Provincial Health Office, under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the positions listed below, to be employed on a ten (10) month contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

SALARY: A competitive package will be offered to successful candidates on a ten (10) month contract basis.

POSITION 11: FINANCE OFFICER — 3 (THREE) POSITIONS

Job Purpose

To prepare monthly cash flow requests, documentation and financial reports in order to ensure adherence to financial regulations and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

Undertakes timely and accurate routine accounting activities, including bank and fuel reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and processing of payments, in order to facilitate accountability for public funds.

Compliance

Ensures compliance with relevant project/donor rules, regulations, and internal controls, including review of payments and reconciliation of activity advances.

Accounts Reporting

Prepares and submits timely financial and expenditure returns in order to facilitate decision making.

Records Management

Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records, including filing of payment vouchers and posting of transactions into the accounting system, in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Full Form V / Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Valid practicing certificate/membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Confidentiality, integrity, and numerical skills.

Location Distribution

NOTE: Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)-verified qualification documents will be an added advantage for all applications submitted under this announcement.
