Environmental & Social Governance (ESG) Officer Opportunity in Lusaka ZCCM Investment Holdings Plc invites qualified professionals to apply for the position of ESG Officer jobs in Lusaka. This contract role offers a unique chance to lead and shape the company’s Environmental and Social Governance strategy, ensuring compliance and fostering sustainable business practices across the organization and its group entities.
About the Role:
This role requires close collaboration with internal teams to implement robust reporting processes that ensure data accuracy and reliability, contributing to enhanced ESG performance and transparency. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and implementation of ESG strategies that are evidence-based and data-driven.
Manage and report on the ESG strategy execution for both the company and its group, impacting investor relations and brand value. Continuously improve ESG reporting processes and internal controls to guarantee audit-ready, reliable data.
Develop, benchmark, and review sustainability objectives and improvement programs for various portfolios. Oversee annual ESG report preparation, including data collection, content development, and external assurance.
Ensure alignment with ESG disclosure standards and proactively address challenges to meet deadlines and quality benchmarks. Coordinate responses to inquiries from ESG rating agencies and act as the primary contact for internal ESG data requests.
Drive stakeholder engagement to embed sustainability practices throughout the business operations. Support risk management and audit closure processes across subsidiaries and strengthen oversight for portfolio companies.
Provide technical expertise on environmental and social impact assessments and sustainability risks in line with industry best practices. Contribute ESG insights into the company’s business planning process.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or a related technical/science field. Professional ESG certification such as CFA Certificate in ESG Investing, IPF, CISL, or equivalent qualifications.
At least four years’ experience in a similar role within a complex, fast-paced environment.
