The Dipping Hand role supports safe, efficient, and productive blasting by verifying blast hole conditions before charging and blasting activities, ensuring compliance with blast designs, safety protocols, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities for Dipping Hand Blasting Holes Jobs in Solwezi Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections on drilled and loaded blast holes to confirm adherence to approved blast designs and operational standards.
Measure, dip, and accurately record blast hole depths and conditions prior to charging activities. Identify and report collapsed, blocked, short-drilled, or over-drilled blast holes, marking them for corrective action.
Verify stemming heights in loaded blast holes to ensure compliance with blasting specifications. Inspect loaded blast holes to confirm explosive loading parameters meet design requirements before blasting.
Ensure proper backfilling and documentation of over-drilled blast holes according to company procedures. Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, measurements, and inspection reports related to blast hole quality assurance.
Report drilling deviations, quality concerns, and safety issues to the QAQC Area Supervisor promptly. Support blasting and drilling teams to promote safe, efficient, and productive drill and blast operations.
Adhere strictly to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while working within blast areas. Qualifications and Experience Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
