An exciting opportunity for an experienced Country Manager to lead and oversee all Zambian operations within a diversified mining and logistics environment. This role carries full responsibility for operational performance, financial management, business growth, compliance, people leadership, and strategic execution across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Own and manage the consolidated country P&L across all Zambian entities
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, receivables, payables, and annual audit processes
- Ensure financial performance targets and governance standards are achieved
- Provide consolidated management reporting and commercial insight to Group leadership
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all Zambian statutory requirements including VAT, WHT, PAYE, NHIMA, NAPSA, and corporate tax obligations
- Manage tax reporting processes and maintain strong relationships with relevant authorities
- Ensure all entities operate within legal and regulatory frameworks
Business Development & Growth
- Identify and develop new mining and industrial client relationships across Zambia
- Expand market presence by identifying new suppliers and partnership opportunities
- Support growth initiatives across fuel supply, procurement, logistics, handling, and related service offerings
- Identify opportunities for diversification and business expansion
People & Human Resources Management
- Provide leadership across all business units and functional teams
- Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, payroll, performance management, and employee relations
- Build a strong performance culture focused on accountability and development
- Ensure labour compliance and positive employee engagement practices
HSE Leadership
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all sites
- Ensure full compliance with mine-specific HSE requirements and Group standards
- Drive a zero-harm operating environment and maintain robust incident management processes
- Monitor HSE performance across employees and contractors
Fuel & Supply Chain Operations
- Oversee fuel sourcing, inventory management, quality control, and supply chain performance
- Ensure operational procedures and stock management standards are maintained
- Monitor operational continuity and optimise supply reliability across sites
Capital Projects & Infrastructure
- Lead major infrastructure and operational projects including procurement, installation, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
- Monitor timelines, budgets, and project performance
Logistics, Handling & Operations
- Oversee handling operations including cargo staging, truck movements, offloading activities, and operational reporting
- Ensure efficient turnaround times and effective logistics coordination
- Drive operational discipline and continuous process improvement initiatives
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the primary Group representative within Zambia
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, regulators, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Identify strategic opportunities and support long-term business growth plans
- Deliver regular portfolio and operational updates to Group leadership

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field (essential)
- CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, Finance Honours or equivalent qualification advantageous
- Minimum 8–10 years management experience, including at least 3 years in Country Manager / GM level leadership roles
- Minimum 5 years within mining or mining support environments
- Strong logistics and supply chain experience essential
- Previous experience within expatriate and cross-cultural environments required
- Zambia or broader Sub-Saharan Africa experience highly advantageous
