Position: Control Room Operator

Location: Zambia

Job Summary:
The Control Room Operator will monitor and control plant operations from the control room, ensuring production processes operate safely, efficiently, and according to established operating parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor plant processes, equipment, alarms, and operating parameters.
• Operate control systems and adjust processes as required.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions and respond appropriately.
• Communicate operational issues to supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate production and operational records.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with field operators to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and report faults promptly.
• Assist with start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain effective communication during shift handovers.

Requirements:

• Certificate or diploma in Process Control, Electrical/Instrumentation, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Previous control room or industrial plant experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of industrial processes and control systems.
• Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts.
