Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules. The ideal candidate is not just an operator but a problem-solver with a strong background in the electrical and mechanical maintenance of CNC machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, program, and operate CNC machines based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret blueprints, dimensions, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Critically, this includes diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults on the machines.
- Process Improvement: Identify and report machine faults, defects, and production issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency .
- Compliance: Maintain production records and activity logs, ensuring full compliance with quality, health, safety, and company standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification. A CNC Machining certification is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years' experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Must be hands-on with electrical or mechanical operation and maintenance of CNC machines. This includes diagnosing and repairing issues related to motors, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
