About the Billing Accountant Role As a Billing Accountant at Varun Beverages Zambia Limited, you will be responsible for managing customer invoicing, processing credit notes, and ensuring revenue assurance across all accounts.

Your work will directly support the finance department in maintaining accurate billing records, preventing revenue leakage, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities for Billing Accountant Jobs in Lusaka Invoicing:

• Generate daily and weekly invoices for distributors and key accounts, ensuring pricing discounts and VAT (16%) are accurately applied using SAP/ERP systems.

Credit Notes and Adjustments:

• Process returns, breakages, and promotional discounts, reconciling with the sales team to prevent revenue losses.

Customer Accounts Management:

• Maintain and update customer billing master data; follow up on disputed invoices and collaborate with Sales and Warehouse teams to resolve issues promptly.

Reconciliation:

• Conduct daily billing versus dispatch reconciliations and monthly revenue and debtor reconciliations in coordination with the Finance Manager.

Compliance:

• Ensure all invoices comply with Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) e-invoicing requirements and assist in preparing VAT returns with accurate billing schedules.

Reporting:

• Provide management with aging reports, billing accuracy KPIs, and analyses of any revenue leakage to support informed decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills Required Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualifications such as ACCA Part 2 or ZICA CA Zambia.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in billing, accounts receivable, or related roles preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Navision, or Pastel.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and invoicing compliance is essential.

Personal Attributes:

• High accuracy, strong analytical skills, ability to work under pressure especially during month-end closing, and a thorough understanding of Zambian tax invoicing regulations.
