Duties & Responsibilities
- Process daily accounting transactions in Sage Accounting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and timeously.
- Prepare and submit PAYE, UIF, and SDL returns.
- Assist with provisional tax and corporate income tax compliance.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Ensure compliance with South African accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks, and external service providers when required.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Perform additional finance and accounting duties as required by the business.
Minimum Requirements Qualifications- Matric / Grade 12.
- A 3-year Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience- 3 to 5 years' proven accounting experience in a similar role.
- Experience within a similar industry will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting practices, and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Practical experience with Sage Accounting is essential.
- Hands-on experience with SARS e-Filing and tax submissions is essential.
