About the Role

ZE-EL Trading PLC, a mid-sized importer and distributor of pharmaceutical products, seeks a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting in a fast-paced import and distribution environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions, ledgers, and journals.
  • Process payments and receipts and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer accounts.
  • Handle import-related costing, Letters of Credit (LC), and foreign currency transactions.
  • Maintain inventory and cost records in coordination with the store/warehouse.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, withholding, profit tax) and file on time.
  • Support audits, budgeting, and management reporting.
  • Liaise with banks, the tax authority, and other regulatory bodies as required.
