About the Role
ZE-EL Trading PLC, a mid-sized importer and distributor of pharmaceutical products, seeks a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting in a fast-paced import and distribution environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions, ledgers, and journals.
- Process payments and receipts and perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer accounts.
- Handle import-related costing, Letters of Credit (LC), and foreign currency transactions.
- Maintain inventory and cost records in coordination with the store/warehouse.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, withholding, profit tax) and file on time.
- Support audits, budgeting, and management reporting.
- Liaise with banks, the tax authority, and other regulatory bodies as required.
